Pat's Secret is the penultimate episode of American sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond.
Hank and Pat visit to attend their daughter Amy's birthday. During the night, Robert goes into the kitchen and sees Pat outside. When he goes to talk to her, he is shocked to see that she is smoking. She begs Robert not to tell anyone, saying she has kept this secret for decades, and Robert promises. As a way to bond with Pat, Robert asks for a cigarette, though it makes him sick. Pat takes Robert back to his room.
While Robert tries to go to sleep, Amy smells the cigarette smoke of his clothes and starts to think that he is a smoker. Marie wakes up and believes the same. Robert tries to cover for Pat by saying that he got his cigarette from some guy at work. Hank is outraged and, though Robert believes she would come to his aid, Pat says she is disappointed in Robert too.
The next day, Robert goes to Ray and Debra's and tells them that Pat smokes. Pat soon realizes that Ray and Debra know and says she feels terrible for not saying anything, out of fear of Hank's response. After Hank and Marie continue to give Robert a hard time, Ray blurts out to the entire family that Pat is the smoker. Pat confesses, saying that it calms her nerves. In her defense, Robert tells Hank that many couples have unusual ways of calming themselves and the rest of the family discuss what some of these are before the cutting of the cake.
